My Journey with Type 1 Diabetes: From Diagnosis to Advocacy 

When Kristinn was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 2018, he faced isolation and stigma, but then a simple call to change the name of a local association evolved into a larger mission of representation, education, and mentorship. From joining the board of Diabetes Iceland to mentoring new advocates at the IDF Youth Leadership Lab, Kristinn’s story is a powerful reminder of how connection, community, and courage can turn a diagnosis into a platform for lasting change.
