World Diabetes Day
14 November
14 November is World Diabetes Day!
This day commemorates the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the scientist who first discovered, isolated and administered insulin, in one of the greatest medical breakthroughs in history.
Every year on 14 November, #dedoc° hosts a Virtual World Diabetes Day in collaboration with the International Diabetes Federation.
This year, #dedoc° joins PDGN in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the International Diabetes Federation. After a short introduction and words of welcome, we will re-stream the first session of the Global Parliamentary Diabetes Advocacy Forum - live from Malta!
You are invited to join a panel discussion on Diabetes Stigma at Work with
Rt. Hon. The Baroness May of Maidenhead (Theresa May, the former Prime Minister of the UK)
Ana Alvarez Pagola, Head of Scientific Relations at #dedoc°
Prof. Dr. Peter Schwarz, President of the International Diabetes Federation
Sana Ajmal, General Secretary, Parliamentarians for Diabetes Global Network
